Sir Winston Churchill.
There are many rural areas where proper medical facilities are not available. Even if there are some health centers available, either they don't have proper medical staff and equipment or the cost of treatment is unaffordable for the villagers. They are hence deprived of proper health care. Keeping in mind the lack of medical facilities in such rural regions, Deepavali has helped to finance and complete the construction of three hospitals which are run and managed by our local partner charity in India - in the village and towns of Mangarh, Barsana and Vrindavan.
The first fully charitable Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya (JKC) hospital was started in Mangarh village of Pratapgarh district in U.P. It was inaugurated on 5th November, 2003. This 75 bedded hospital treats about 500 patients daily.
The second JKC hospital commenced operations in January 2007 in Barsana, U.P. and treats about 300 patients daily. The third and largest JKC hospital was inaugurated on September 18th, 2015 in the town of Vrindavan. This hospital is the most modern and well equipped hospital in the region and treats about 700 patients daily.
All three hospitals are run entirely on charitable donations, serving a rural population of over 1,000,000 within its catchment radius of 80-100 km and treating hundreds of patients daily. They are all multi facility hospitals providing free services of general physicians, gynecologists, dermatologists, ophthalmologists, orthopedics and physiotherapists.
JKC also provides services of alternate medicine through naturopathy, homoeopathy, ayurvedic & acupressure treatments and has the latest rehabilitation equipment. The hospital also provides 24 hour emergency and ambulance service.
All medical personnel including doctors render their services free to the hospital as a service to humanity.
JKCs are equipped with state-of-the-art imaging and laboratory equipment and in-house Pathology Lab. The expenses for all in-patient services, out-patient services, medicines, X-Rays, ECG, ultrasound, pathology investigations and any surgeries performed at JKC are all borne by our local partner charity. Thus our partner hospitals are completely free for all patients irrespective of their cast, creed, religion or financial situation.
Proper shelters have also been constructed outside two of the hospitals as a waiting hall for the poor patients who travel long distances in the hope of being examined first in the morning. Due to the unprecedented rush and to maintain quality service, all the hospitals are forced to limit the number of patients to be examined in a day.
With ongoing support from new donors, we aim to help increase the number of patients we can serve each day.
We would love to hear from you to see how we can partner with you to change people's lives.
Please reach out to us and reach within your hearts and join us in supporting these benevolent causes.
